Weekly Themes & Field Trips

WEEK 1 (June 16-19): Summer Kick-Off!

Get ready to launch into sunshine, smiles, and nonstop fun! Our Summer Kick-Off theme is all about starting the season with high energy—welcoming new friends, jumping into exciting activities, and setting the tone for an unforgettable summer at camp. Let the adventure begin!  

FIELD TRIP: Little Amerricka


WEEK 2 (June 24-28): Beach Bummin'

Kick back and soak up the summer vibes! Beach Bummin’ is all about easygoing fun—think ocean-inspired games, breezy crafts, and plenty of time to relax, laugh, and enjoy the sunshine with friends. Total chill, camp-style!  

FIELD TRIPS: Land of Natura, UW Geology Museum, and Henry Vilas Zoo 


WEEK 3 (June 29-July 2): Stars and Stripes

Red, white, and blue take center stage as campers celebrate summer with patriotic fun! Our Stars and Stripes theme is packed with spirited games, creative activities, and plenty of camp pride—all while making memories that shine bright.  

FIELD TRIPS: Verona Fireman’s Beach, Boulders (older campers), and Madison Children’s Museum (younger campers)


WEEK 4 (July 6-10): Into the Wild

Get ready for a wild adventure! This animal-themed week is all about discovering amazing creatures from around the world through games, crafts, and hands-on activities. From fierce to furry, campers will explore the animal kingdom while having a roar-some time!  

FIELD TRIPS: Crawdaddy Cove and Timbavati


WEEK 5 (July 13-17): Nature Navigators

Step outside and discover the wonders all around us! Our Nature theme is all about exploring plants, landscapes, and the natural world through hands-on activities, games, and creative projects. Campers will connect with the outdoors while making memories that grow with them!  

FIELD TRIPS: Middleton Lakeview Splash Pad/Park and Aldo Leopold Nature Center


WEEK 6 (July 20-24): Art Explosion

Get ready to unleash your creativity! Art Explosion is all about colorful projects, messy fun, and imaginative expression. From painting and crafting to bold new creations, campers will explore their artistic side while making masterpieces to remember all summer long!  

FIELD TRIPS: Waunakee Centennial Park Playscape, Fired Up Pottery, and Winnequah Dream Park


WEEK 7 (July 27-31): Barnyard Bash

Yeehaw! Our Barnyard Bash theme brings the fun of farm life to camp with lively games, hands-on activities, and plenty of country charm. Campers will “moo-ve,” “cluck,” and “neigh” their way through a week full of laughter, teamwork, and barnyard adventures!  

FIELD TRIPS: McKee Farms Park and Country Bumpkin


WEEK 8 (August 3-7): Galaxy Explorers

Blast off into a universe of fun! Galaxy Explorers takes campers on an out-of-this-world adventure filled with starry games, cosmic crafts, and exciting space challenges. From discovering planets to imagining life among the stars, campers will explore the galaxy while making stellar summer memories!  

FIELD TRIPS: Crawdaddy Cove and Urban Air


WEEK 9 (August 10-14): Color Wars

Gear up for a rainbow of fun! Color Wars is packed with team challenges, energetic games, and creative competitions where campers can show off their colors and compete for the win. Bright, bold, and full of excitement—let the colors fly!  

FIELD TRIPS: Middleton Lakeview Splash Pad/Park and Legacy Academy

9:00-9:30- Morning Snack

9:30-10:30-Outdoor Free Time

10:30-12:00- Project/Work Time/Free Choice

12:00-Lunch

12:45-1:45-Rejuvenate/Individual Work Time

                       Monday: Reading Buddies (1:00-1:30)

                       Friday: Movie Day

1:45-3:00- Outdoor/Project/Work Time/Free Choice

3:00- Snack Time

3:30-4:30- Outdoor Free Play

4:30-5:30- Kamper Pick-Up/Free Choice

Wheelin' Wednesdays

On Wednesdays, Kampers are invited to bring something from home that has wheels: bike, skateboard, roller skates, roller blades, scooter, etc. Each Kamper who wants to participate will have time throughout the day to use their wheels outside on the blacktop.  Every child MUST have a helmet in order to ride. No motorized wheels.
