Kristi has been an invaluable part of our teaching team since October 2012. With a Level 10 status on The Registry, she holds both an Early Childhood Education (ECE) Lead Teacher certification and a Preschool Credential. Her journey in early childhood education began in 1986 at Playhaven, and over the years she has gained a wealth of experience. She spent five years at an in-home group center—two of those as Program Director—before serving as the Program Director for 18 years at the School’s Out Before & After School Program.
Her passion for early childhood education shines brightest when working with her favorite age group: 4- and 5-year-olds.
Outside of the classroom, Kristi shares a full and joyful life with her husband Jon. They have four grown sons—one married with three sons, one married with a daughter, one living at home, and one residing in Utah. With three of their boys living just minutes away, family get-togethers are a regular and lively affair! Kristi and Jon also enjoy their daily carpool commute from Waterloo, turning everyday travel into quality time together.
In addition to her deep love for children, Kristi is a true “crafty queen”—she loves stamping, sewing, quilting, and painting. Her creativity, dedication, and warmth make her a cherished member of our team.
