    Backup Teachers

One great benefit of Koala-T-Kare is that we have a great resource of back-up staff who are not in the center full-time, but work at Qualtim/Pushing7/New Self in our building and can come down on a moment's notice if we need assistance. The following people serve as Assistant Teachers who float between classes and support the full-time teachers when we need an extra hand. Most of these teachers are moms, and most have children enrolled in Koala-T-Kare, so it's great to have a bit of extra support from parents who know how important it is to have the very best care for our precious little ones.

Sandy Farmer Sandy Farmer joined Koala-T-Kare in May 2008. She is a certified Teacher, registered with the Wisconsin Registry, has attended Early Childhood I an II, Infant/Toddler Care, and First Aid and Safety at MATC. Sandy holds certificates with the American Red Cross for CPR and Infant CPR and with the State of Wisconsin for Safe Serve.

Sandy provided child care in her home for 5 years and worked at Room to Grow Childcare for 2 years, working with two year olds. Sandy is the mother of three: Brett (15) years old), Derek (13 years old), and Emma (5 years old), who attends Koala-T-Kare. She enjoys going to the park, watching her children play sports, and family activities.

Sandy is the General Manager of New Self Renewal Center, Koala-T-Kare's sister company. In addition to her childcare background, she has over 20 years of restaurant management experience with an emphasis on training and customer service. She enjoys the responsibility of helping to make New Self a unique place and is committed to creating an environment that exceeds our members’ expectations.

Trish Kutz Trish Kutz is a certified Assistant Teacher who loves to help out and also spend a bit more time with her energetic son Trevor who is enrolled at Koala-T-Kare. Trish earned an Associate Degree in Business Mid-Management at Madison Area Technical College. She has worked for Qualtim since July of 2006. She currently lives in Lodi, with her husband, Justin, son Trevor and dog, Cooper. She likes to spend her spare time with family and friends and taking long walks with Justin, Trevor and Cooper.

She has been a graphic designer with Qualtim since 2007 and has more than 20 years of agency and print experience in the marketing and promotional industry. She holds a degree in Commercial Art. She is also responsible for many of the snazzy promotional materials for Koala-T-Kare! Denise enjoys weekend adventures and watching her kids participate in extracurricular activities. There's never a dull moment!

From 2003 to 2008 while in school, Cassie was a childcare teacher at the La Crosse Area Family YMCA working with children aged 6 months to 5 years. She also worked as a Field Supervisor and Assistant Director for the Sumer Recreation Enrichment Center Pre-K program. Most recently, she worked as a Recreation and Marketing Intern and Interim Site Director for the Madison School and Community Recreation (MCSR).

Cassie is currently the Youth Recreation Director in New Self Renewal Center (Koala-T-Kare's sister company). She loves to watch kids grow and learn new things every day, and see the excitement in their eyes each time they stop by Kid Corner. Her hope is that every child who visits Kid Corner feels like it is designed specially for them, while still giving Mom and Dad the ability to take some much needed, guilt-free time for themselves!

When she's not at work, Cassie enjoys going out with friends, spending time with family, scrapbooking, watching movies, traveling and cheering on the UW Badgers! GO BUCKY!

Jill Zimmerman Jill Zimmerman has been helping out a lot since her daughter Katelyn enrolled in Koala-T-Kare in early 2009. When she is not organizing tradeshows for Qualtim, Jill is avoiding cow pies. Jill and her husband, Brian own and operate a 300-cow dairy farm on about 280 acres of land in Watertown, Wisconsin. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Brian, her good natured daughter Katelyn (the apple doesn't fall far from the tree!) and rambunctious puppy, Jack.
