Linda Carignan Linda has been with Koala-T-Kare since June 2008. She has completed her Infant/Toddler course at MATC and holds a Level 2 Wisconsin Registry Certificate. Linda currently works in the Parrot classroom (ages 9 months to 16 months). Linda previously worked at Pine PlayHaven Childcare in Pardeeville and Gingerbread House in DeForest. She was also a Youth Services Director for the Pardeeville Library.
Linda has 3 children and lives in Poynette. She is excited about working at Koala-T-Kare!
Tammy Detter began at Koala-T-Kare in December 2007 and currently works with infants 2 weeks to 8 months in the Chickadees group. She has 17 years experience working with infants. She worked for 14 years at PlayHaven as an Infant Lead Teacher and 2 years as an Assistant Director. She has her Level I Registry Certificate, Infant / Toddler Certification, and many more certificates in the child care field. She has been married to Jim, her wonderful husband, for 17 years, and has 2 hunting dogs. She is also a “big sister” to a sweet 13 year old that she began watching in childcare at 3 months of age. Tammy still hangs out with her on weekends and they have “girl time.” She calls Tammy her “second mom.” Tammy also helped raise her two nephews and niece who are now 21, 19, and 16! She loves being here and working with all of our fabulous friends and their families here at Koala-T-Kare.
Laura Dobrinska currently works in our 2-4 year old classroom (the Owls). Laura graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in May 2007. She has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Health Education. Laura also holds a Level Eleven Wisconsin Registry certificate, which certifies her to be an administrator for a childcare center of up to fifty children.
While in school, Laura student taught at Franklin Elementary in Madison, WI in a Kindergarten classroom. She also student taught at Sir John Lillie Primary School in the inner-city of London, England. There, she taught for three months in a Year 3 classroom (second grade). After returning from London, Laura worked at Country Grove Preschool in Madison, WI in a two-year-old classroom.
Laura has been at Koala-T-Kare since March 2008 and is excited to have the opportunity to work with Koala-T-Kare children and their families.
Sandy Farmer Sandy started at Koala-T-Kare in May 2008. She is registered with the Wisconsin Registry, has attended Early Childhood I an II, Infant/Toddler Care, and First Aid and Safety at MATC. Sandy holds certificates with the American Red Cross for CPR and Infant CPR and with the State of Wisconsin for Safe Serve.
Sandy provided child care in her home for 5 years and worked at Room to Grow Childcare for 2 years, working with two year olds. Sandy is the mother of three: Brett (14 years old), Derek (13 years old), and Emma (3 years old), who attends Koala-T-Kare. She enjoys going to the park, watching her children play sports, and family activities.
Sandy currently is working in the Parrots classroom (ages 9 – 16 months). She enjoys snuggle time with the children and is looking forward to caring for your child!
Charley Gamble joined the Koala-T-Kare team in August 2008. He is a teacher with the 18 – 24 month old Peacocks. Charley’s work experience includes over 3 years working in a variety of childcare settings, with ages ranging from infants up to second graders. Charley obtained his Associates Degree in Early Childhood from North Central Michigan College where he resided until he moved to Rhinelander last year.
Charley and his wife of 2 years recently moved to the Madison area and in their free time they enjoy traveling, shopping, and spending time together. Charley really enjoys the energy that each child brings to the classroom and loves helping them make new discoveries each day!
Jeri Mooberry Jeri is one of the infant (Chickadee) teachers at Koala-T-Kare, working with the 2-week to 8-month old children. She started working here since before Koala-T-Kare even opened, starting in January of 2006, when we had three children or less. Jeri is a Registered Nurse and holds a Bachelor’s degree. She also had a small in home daycare while her oldest two children were in elementary school.
Jeri is the mother of three and also has a new granddaughter! Her granddaughter Maggie also attends Koala-T-Kare. Jeri helps teach the 4-5 year old class at her church. Several years ago she had an amazing experience when she went on a trip to Haiti and worked in an orphanage for newborns to 4 year olds.
Sue Schneider is the Center Director at Koala-T-Kare, and began working with us in October 2006. She also works with many of the classrooms as well as the school aged children. Sue has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from UW-Oshkosh in Elementary Education and is licensed to teach junior high English, K – 6th grade, and Early Childhood Exceptional Needs. Sue also holds a Level Eleven Wisconsin Registry certificate.
Sue’s work experience includes teaching babies with special needs through the Birth to 3 program, working as a Special Education Coordinator with Head Start, teaching Kindergarten, working in daycare and substitute teaching in and around the Madison area.
Sue and her husband Peter have been married for 26 years. They love to travel and help friends and family whenever they can. They have 2 cats and no children, so Sue loves to play with the kids at work!
Caren Storms currently works with the Peacocks, ages 16 months – 2 years. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in December 2005 with a Bachelor’s Degree in K-12 Cross-Categorical Special Education and holds a DPI teaching license in that area.
While in school Caren worked at Kids Safari Learning Center in Cottage Grove, WI as a toddler and school age teacher. She student taught K-6 Special Education in Johnson Creek, WI and taught middle/high school special education at New Glarus for 2 years. She returned to childcare in August 2008 after realizing her passion was in early childhood and she is very happy to be working at Koala-T-Kare with all the great kids we have!
Val Wolchek, after teaching gymnastics for over 12 years and being a part time nanny for one Madison family for 16+ yrs, Val decided to return to school to pursue her certification & license for in-home child care. She currently holds a Level 3 Wisconsin Registry Certificate.
Val joined our staff in April of 2007 and her main focus is heading up New Self Renewal Centers - Kid Corner, as the Child Care Coordinator. She is also a wonderful resource for backing up all the Koala-T-Kare teachers, when needed, on a regular basis.
Val's experience also includes working in customer service and administration. She is a true people person who really enjoys the team atmosphere here and the variety of projects to work on - no one day is ever the same.
When not at work, Val enjoys road tripping to Colorado to play with her two nephews, dinner and movies with family and friends, reading a good suspense book and photography/scrapbooking when time allows.
